I, Logan Wilmas, ever-loving GM guy, prefer the Ford F-150 over the Chevy Silverado.

Kinja'd!!!

It just looks... better. It's not as upright and square.

It's also more configurable than the Silverado with over double the trim levels.

I dunno much about the engines offered in the Ford, but GM's motors might be better?

Sorry GM... Build a more attractive truck next time.

I'll take the Ram with any engine option, over the best of Ford's.

Ug. I liked the previous gen F150 over the previous gen Silverado (I had a '11 Silverado) but I can't agree with you on this. I hate the look of the new F150 and the new Silverados are growing on me. As for trim levels I think Ford has too many, it's sorta ridiculous how many trim levels they have IMO.

I prefer the Ram over both of them, mainly because cheap Hemi power and good looks.

I do have a healthy admiration for the '15 F150, however.

The Silverado is the last truck out of the three I'd check out. It's too busy taking itself seriously, too expensive and too conservative. It's like the Bill O'Reilly of pickup trucks.

I really liked the Silverado in the beginning, but it's starting to lose it's luster for me. Too much chrome.

I just want GM to offer a trim level that loses all the plastic cladding on the outside, but keeps the work-truck interior on the inside. Ford offers that on the F-150, it's called the STX and it's a work truck with an all-painted exterior.

The Ram is probably my favorite until the '15 F-150 comes along.

You just described the Silverado perfectly.

2 things- the CURRENT chevy trucks are retro (muh '88 c10) cool- and the ecoboost is the best light duty truck motor around.

I think GM really dropped the ball on their new trucks. It's going to take a while for them to catch up to Ford's new aluminium F-150.

I don't know about on the current gen but I had an LS model Silverado and it was basically what you are describing.

I just wish they'd go retro with the size and make the damn things a little smaller!

Twin-Turbo'd V6 goodness is what it is.

Current one goes from WT to LT, no LS trim level.

If you want to talk about a ridiculous amount of trim levels look at Ram. Ford is actually pretty simple with their trucks. There is really only four trims.

XL=work truck

SXT=sporty but basic

XLT=classy but "basic"

Lariat= Luxury,

Then there is the options packages like Limited, Platinum, King Ranch, and FX2, 0r 4. Which are just appearance packages for the Lariat.

there is also the Tremor bullshit, and Raptor but i'm not gonna count those.

From looking at the Chevy website it looks like the 2WT trim level is the same as the old LS. It gets rid of the plastic outside cladding.

It's way to early to say that. You could be right but I want to see what the repair bills on the aluminum chassis are like first.

Trucks with twin turbos sound cool but it doesn't really make a lot of sense. I'd take a Hemi instead. Trucks tend to last a very long time and yet live a hard life. The Hemi engine will laze about most of the time and last really long - and still have the power to pull hard.

In the real world the way I drive I have found V-8s can do fairly well compared to high powered turbo engines. Turbo's eat gas on boost..

Ram also has the new Ecodiesel, or if you want a 3/4 ton and up, you can get an optional legend.

I was sitting here for the weeks that you were posting about GM trucks going "Do I make any comments about the F-15o being better? Nah, He'll figure it out." Glad to see you've come over to the other side!

For those weeks, I was trying to find a configuration that I actually liked. I found one for the Sierra, but never could for the Silverado.

Yeah but how much does it cost to get those headlights and wheels? The normal F-150 doesn't look nearly as nice as this one.

I like these trucks, but enough with the overbadging trend on everything. A couple of badges for marque and model on the tailgate max back there, please. STAHP. Stooooop.

I know right!? Its terrible how many badges are on trucks now.

My dad's truck has 4 badges total. One Chevy logo on the front, little silverado logos on the c-pillars, and one huge Chevrolet decal running across the tailgate. I guess you could count the two 4X4 decals on the bed as well.
