A friend on mine recently took delivery of a C230. Plenty powerful, and still gets 35MPG highway. Sounds pretty mean with the sport package, for a little german car.

I have to agree though, if he's set on the E Class, get the 350 wagon.

I just don't really like new cars. I leased an AMG once because I moved and had to ship my cars, but my wife's TDI beetle is the only car newer than 1983 we have. Coincidentally that is a 300D Merc.
