I'm going to Uwharrie in a 2014 Ford F150 4x4 (rental with full coverage insurance)
Any tips?

Go slow, no quick stabs of the throttle, no more throttle than is absolutely necessary.

If in doubt, throttle out. That's pretty much all you need to know if you're off roading a rented truck.

Thanks for the tip. Hopefully I won't get stuck.

So basically gun it? That seems to be the polar opposite of the last guy that commented. LOL

It's a rental, fuck it. You don't want to get stuck, as long as it works when you bring it back it's not your problem. If it was your truck, I'd agree with him, go slow, look for traction and just work on getting through. And that's good advice here too, but still- if you aren't sure, momentum helps.

read the contract thoroughly, a buddy had a horror story of Hertz claiming abuse and sticking him with the bill.

I'm not gonna try anything crazy, and I'm gonna hose it down to try to wash away any evidence.

You want to avoid speed/throttle because that's how you break things. If you break something on the trail you're gonna have a bad time. I've seen people break axles, drivelines, fuel/brake lines, differentials. Be careful and you will still have a good time.

Sounds good. Hopefully this thing is actually built ford tough.
