Opera singer Mado Robin hit a minor seventh - Bb ABOVE high C - in this performance at the San Francisco Opera in 1953. It is the highest recorded note ever sung by a human voice. Skip ahead to 2:35 and wait for it. And if you have headphones on, turn down your volume a tad.

Much like watching a contortionist it's...interesting...a person can do this but it's not really enjoyable.

In an otherwise utterly forgettable song. Thanks for sharing.

Here's Maynard Ferguson hitting 100 double C's. It's not really a whole step higher than Robin's note. It's the same pitch, since Maynard is playing a B-flat trumpet. (It's a long story.)

In case anybody is really wondering, which is unlikely, this is what a double B-flat looks like on the page.

According to many sources returned in a web search:

Georgia Brown, a Brazilian singer noted for her extensive vocal range, currently holds the Guinness World Records for hitting the highest vocal note. Also, her range spans exactly 8 octaves from G2-G10 using scientific pitch notation. She also has 5 octave of singing voice.
