...and it was red! Came home from the pubs early (can't afford a severe hangover, have an evaluation coming soon and they want to see a lesson from outer space) and saw this. Ford Transit fire truck!

These things are quite popular among older hippies as RV conversions. They obviously have to swap the rear axle to keep up with modern traffic, as they were specced to carry tons of equipment and sweaty men in heavy gear, but never had to go very far. They just had to GET THERE, no matter how steep the hill.

Isn't that a smile that warms your heart? Even if it can't get out of it's own way, it has style and presence. As you can see it this shot, the inside is empty, maybe it will end up as an RV, maybe it belongs to an enthusiast who wants to keep it as is? Chances are I will see it around? If I do, I'll tell you.

Just to round it up, a shot of the rear. Not much to write home about. The missing rear window might have been a bitch when they had to back it into the station after a job, though.

That's a cool little truck. I saw a Morris Minor parked on the street on my way in to work this morning. I know that's not special for Euros but in the American Pacific Northwest it's a very unusual thing to see.
