This morning, i meet a friend of mine who works as an importer here in Indonesia. I simply ask him "Is it possible to import an Eunos Cosmo here?"
He answers "Yes. But you need at least 40k if you want the top of the line Eunos Cosmo Type E-CCS, with all those fancy GPS and 3 Rotor. I never receive any request for the Cosmo yet, so if you import one, it'll be very likely that you'll be the first and only Eunos Cosmo in here."
And now i wonder. Is it worth it?
My heart says hell yes. Imagine driving a car so cool like this. It looks cool, it's sounds cool, and it's the only car in the country. Plus i can park it next to the Crown and my old Cosmo. How brilliant is that?
But my brain says it's stupid to buy a 40k 3-rotor uber coupe with outdated satnav and single-digit mpg. Plus no support form Mazda, since they never sold the cosmo..
So, what do you think?

Is it RWD? Because everything else about this car is awesome.

Sorry, HWD.

Helix Water District?

Well, yes it was.
RWD, 3Rotor, 300hp+300lb-ft. Not bad.

Skip it, save the cash for something cool that you can find parts support for.

Yep, that car's awesome. From what I've read, you can only get it in an automatic, correct? Other than that, pure awesome.

Yeah, my logic says that.
I still haven't found the seal replacement for my old Cosmo. I'm affraid it'll be the same.

Yeah.
I don't care, to be honest, all my previous car is auto.

I hate to say it but you'd repeat history buying another one. Unless there's an Indonesian rotary expert that's reasonably close, it's probably a bad idea to drive/own a car like that without any access to parts.

Dude, buy this car. You can't say no to 3 rotaries.

I say major crack pipe. In Japan these are literally throwaways. I know you have crazy import taxes in Indonesia but your friend would literally buy this for under $10000 in Japan then import it. How would you feel if you knew the car you paid $40000 for is only really worth about 10K? I've seen imported ones of these in canada anywhere from $8000-$15000 landed in Canada which means they would not of been more than $5000-$10000 in Japan.Have you they were not in pristine condition but maybe a 6.5/10.
Don't get me wrong the Cosmo is an insanely nice car that I would love to have, but it would be very difficult to justify spending that much for one.
Remember a car is worth whatever you are willing to pay for it.
for Example I had bought this absolutely MINT 1990 Fairlady Z Twin Turbo from Japan with Manual,Leather,78000 kms for $10000 landed in Canada.

But...
In Indonesia, if you import the car, it'll be taxed massively, that's why.
First, you had to pay the import tax, which is 100% of the value of the car, includes the shipping.
Second, you had to pay an extra 25% road tax to register it.
That's why my cosmo ends up at 40k something. Even the 300ZX like yours will cost at least 30k when it landed in here.

And that's why a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
In other words if it's worth 40K to you then it's nice price if it's not worth it to you then it's crack pipe.
