So after pulling my plugs and seeing some scary stuff, I just said screw it, and got new plugs. The old ones were Bosch Platinum 4+, and looked like they had 40-60k miles. Explains the rough idle.
So, I just got some Bosch OE Platinums and they work great. They installed easily, the gaps were correct out of the box (of course I checked them), amd I got them in without trouble. Took me a little longer than removal because I was taking my time and making sure I didnt strip the threads from the block. Last thing I need.
With the Catch Can, Shorty Wires, new plugs and Cold Air Intake, the HEMI Wagon is in great shape. Idles very smooth, starts right up proud as can be.
Once I get the rest of the engine bay cleaned of grunge buildup, Ill get to the real glamour shots. For now, shorty wires on the right, stock on the left.
Suspension is up next, followed by wheels and tires.

i cant justify the cost of iridium. As is, $54 for plugs was as high as i could go. I went with more basic single pronged ones, just simple, easy to check and work with.

That 2nd plug from the left does not look good. Pull that at 10K and look at it.

The rear cylinders are difficult to access on the Durango 5.7. I put them in@ 60k miles. That was 60k ago. No issues.

I didn't have any trouble getting plugs in or out. It looks tight, but really isn't on the Magnum. Two separate 3" extensions and spark plug socket really made the difference. I hand threaded it as far as I could and then torqued it down from there. The first extension was just long enough for me to reach from the valve cover, and the second was only if I needed it. A couple of the cylinders it was too much for both, but there was enough clearance to work without much trouble. Despite the 16 plugs, it really isn't that bad to work on.

One side of the engine seemed to have more oil than the other, but the car is parked sideways on a slight hill, which could attribute to that. Definitely making great progress now. I'll definitely be pulling the plugs at 10k to check and make sure. I'd hate to have a bad gasket, but we'll see soon enough. 10k should happen probably about this time next year.

Absolutely!

the only thing the +4 plugs are good for is shrouding the spark away from the A/F mixture. I hate Bosch. I've had more comebacks from Bosch parts than anything else in my career. Even Mercedes has switched to NGK as their OE supplier.

ill definitely keep that in mind for the future, thanks for the great info!
I didnt go with +4s, so it should be much better now. I did look for NGK, but the closest place that had them was too far away for me to get on my lunch break. The OE plugs have a 4 year guarantee, which is why I picked them over the other brands.
