I'm sure the Ecoboost 'Stang will be just fine for most people. I'll even go so far as to say it's the smarter choice. But for me, the only Mustang is a V8 Mustang.

I, for one, welcome our new turbo-4 overlords

I bet you're the kind of asshole that wants one with a DCT, aren't you?

I was totally onboard with the EB Mustang until they revealed that it's going to weigh as much as the V8. No excuse for that crap.

I would say that the Fox body SVO more than justifies a turbo-4 in any Mustang.

Turbochargers and intercoolers add weight. If the next Camaro has a turbo 4, it'll probably weight a lot more than the OHV v8.

An LS1 weighs as much as the 2.4l out of a Nissan 240sx. less actually according to Horsepower TV. so it's completly possible that the turbo 2.3 in a Mustang would weight the same as the 5.0l.

You need stronger/thicker components to survive power making levels of boost. That + a boosted car will have added weight an NA car will not. Throw in the fact that the latest generations of V8s coming out of Detroit (and almost everywhere else actually. Lets take a moment here to applaud the humble V8 engineers of earth for this feat) rival and in some cases beat 6 and 4 Cylinder engines in the weight race, especially if the latter engines are boosted.

I'll welcome them when they bring AWD overlords to the Focus RS.

When will we have a 4.6L twin turbo V8 Mustang?

Why not a TT 5.0?

Because T 2.3L + T 2.3L = TT 4.6L

Yeah but the LS isn't a fair comparison because its pushrod. Pushrod engines are always going to be lighter.

When "4.6" becomes retro. I'm waiting for the eventual "retro" SVT Cobra.
