Kinja'd!!!

It's odd that it's taken five days to tell everyone my family's been FoST'd, but I haven't been on Oppo for a while anyways and I've been busy drooling (nearly) onto the paint and hunting down curvies on Google Maps. (Only one road but DANG it's a good road with stretches of no houses though skinny.)

I'll put together a writeup including story, comparison, personal thoughts, blah blah blah later, but I feel I should just inform everyone that it's happened first.

I think that may be my new favorite color/stripe combination for that car.

It looks so hot in person.

Sorry for the cheap covering of the dealership stuff. Too lazy to install a program yet.

I only ever got up to 36MPG babying it and my parents constantly got 30-31.

Also I learned to drive stick on that Mazda so it wasn't easy saying goodbye anyways... Never got to give it an autocross run either. My parents didn't take my ambition very seriously but suddenly my dad's all for it.

Judging by your name you drive a Camry? Or maybe you have a Trans Am and a Camry?

P.S. If it makes you feel better driving semi-recklessly (like 100MPH freeway pulls and full acceleration [Dad not me since he won't let me... yet]) it gets 21-ish MPG which is better/on par than the 2010 Sienna in the background.

Tune + FMIC and you'll be loving life. Get over to focusst.org!

Sadly my dad's even scared/annoyed/doesn't care/doesn't wanna do even Roush air intake/exhaust... BUT I will head over there and check it out. My dad is tempted to try a track day and this is coming from a previously appliance car family before I started driving.

I have both, and work for a Mazda dealer.

I had a demo SKYACTIV 3 with the slushie box, and BEATING THE PISS OUT OF IT got me 35MPG. Driving like an old man I got 42. Regular driving netted me 40. Always.

Well I had manual and I'm not the smoothest sailor about where to keep RPMs but the Ford has a handy live up/downshift guide for if you want economy. I'm starting to not need it. Lemme just say I was keeping RPMs 600 higher in the Mazda.

Exhaust work is stage 3 if you can believe that. Ford made this car breathe really well off the assembly line. The nice thing about the tune is that you can buy it and install a Stage 1 tune without him even knowing (no mods). Just keep an eye on any stains in the driver's seat... When he asks why its so much more lively, just tell him you put 93 octane gas in it.

Gah! This makes me want a job/income source so bad! Currently I'm stuck doing tons of service at the house instead (oldest of 5 and they're all young), but with rewards like driving a stock FoST I don't mind really.

Also since you're here... have you taken your FoST to a track yet? My dad just registered for Barber Motorsports Park on Father's Day and tips would be nice. I'm gonna direct him to the forum as well.

My first track day with the car is on June 2. I strongly suggest getting a set of track pads. According to others (see racing forum on focusst.org), the OEM pads turn to peanut butter in just a couple of laps. There are some great track day debriefing posts on the forums, including tire pressure suggestions and the like. Personally, I got pads and performance fluid (600) specifically for the track day. I plan to run in sport mode first and then with the ESC off entirely. ESC on seems to do some very unpredictable things with the rear.
