Guy is ~3 hours away, but then I'll have a 5:2 engine-to-application ratio, which seems a bit excessive....

I have the stock 289 in the '66 Mustang that I'll run until it dies, the '69 stock 302 that I'm in the middle of rebuilding, the slightly built '87 302 roller block that's been sitting for about 2 years in plastic, and a garbage '80-'81 255 block that I use for mock up that I should just give to the scrap guys. It's a good deal, but far away (but gas is free because COMPANY TRUCK).

It'd be nice to have an engine and trans that I KNOW runs. I'm doing okay on cash, but space is a commodity I do not have.

Build the roller engine.

The roller engine is built. It was to take the place of the 289 when it dies (and it WILL die soon than later), so the goal was to keep a car running, not speed in particular :)

Oh, you mean "built" as in modified. I thought you meant partially assembled.

Looks like somebody either dumped fuel on the intake or the carb has a throttle shaft leak.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of power does the stock 289 put out?

Call me sick and twisted, but I'd love to find a classic Mustang with one in it, then swap it out for the 1.0L ecoboost...

Nooooooo idea. :/

I'm guessing around 175-185 Gross HP (It's a 2-barrel carb, and it's getting old), which is an embarrassing number with net values >_>

I don't find that sick OR twisted. I like the way you think

There was someone else around here who did a 4-cylinder ecoboost swap into a classic Mustang. It looked great. I'll have to see if I can dig up the build thread.

If you grab it and don't need that extra flex fan that comes with it, I actually REALLY need one on the 302 that I'm building. I would pay shipping; it could be, ummm, a finders fee? ;)
