Oh meh gurhd, I want one. I would drive one that was obnoxiously loud like that, just because everyone would double-take when they realize what car was making that unholy symphony.

Kinja'd!!!

What are the numerous maintenance issues I should worry about with them? They are pretty affordable. Shame they come in auto only, really.

There's one available through CarMax's network.

Not bad, would mean I could get the Doge approved much warranty, wow. It is also almost double the cost of a few others I have seen locally, though.

just watched the FP vid, sweet squirrel nipples!

the car overall is solid. The common issues include...

Four-C suspension shock must be replaced in pairs. About $850 a piece.

Alternators, $680 plus 6 hours labor. They are a bitch to do.

Compressors, $850 plus 6 hours labor, I have many special tools just for that horrid job.

Rear diff controller is around $500 and a ton of labor because the exhaust has to be cut to do it.

And more common than it should be, the front timing cover. $1500 in parts and about 8 hours labor. One of idler pullies on the drive belt fails and takes out the aluminium nub it sits on.

BUT!!!! These things seldom happen. The S80 is one solid beh beh. These issues come in once or twice a month. Most never see a thing besides regular maintenance and interior trim wear. The 3.2 has more little fidgety issues but the V8 is a solid speed machine.

But to be honest, the 3.0T (T6) is quicker :]

how many of these were actually optioned with the Four-C suspension. Even finding that on a S60 non R is uncommon.

Just the V8's really and the S60/V70R's which themselves aren't very common. I've only seen 1 XC70 with it. But all in all, the V8 S80's come with Four- C and almost all the s60/V70R's i've seen. Ugh, the rear shocks on the V70 are a bitch to do trying to disconnect and reconnect that dang connector.

They should have made a S80R, that would have been a hell of a car.

The S90 is coming back. Geely wants a large RWD executive car. The rumors of the S90 were pretty much confirmed at our last meeting.

Hmm. This insider information is definitely helpful. This would take a while, but I am definitely interested in them. I'll have to figure out if it is possible to change out the transmission for something more interesting, too.

no dealer in town has ever had to change a trans on one. They are solid machines for the most part. Anything else, about Volvo, Lotus...ugh, Aston, merc, or Lexus let me know buddy :]

Oh, I'm sure it's reliable. It just wouldn't be what I would want in my dream saloon.
