...to the best car I've ever owned. I'm not gonna lie. I cried.

8 3/4 years is a pretty good run, though. And it's got enough life left in it that the next guy is gonna enjoy it for a long time. I made him promise to take good care of it. I'd like to think he will.

I always thought these would be compelling alternative to a Miata. Glad you enjoyed your car for the years that you did.

I've gushed about it for a long time here. Miatas I can respect, but I have no desire for one, and would never buy one. This, on the other hand... Not only is the engine in the right place, but the A pillar isn't right up in your face, thanks to a much longer wheelbase, and personally, I think it's one of the best-designed cars of the last two decades.

Can't say enough good things about them. It's a shame so many were abused, but prices of the few remaining good ones have only been going up the past couple years.

On the plus side, now you have more room for an SW20 ;)

What is replacing the MR-S?

The current car is this boat . I've never really liked the SW20s all that much, I never seemed to really fit in them comfortably. I would totally jump on an AW11, though, if I could find the right one.

Totally different, good looking car though. Family friend still owns one in the same color and everything. What made you want to switch to a more executive vehicle? AW11 are cool, though, I have even been looking at those myself.

How tall/big are you? I've had my 6'5" friend in mine, but he isn't a very heavyset guy, just tall.

Yeah, it's like going from driving the F-18 to driving the goddamn aircraft carrier. The reality is that I wanted the brick-shithousest car I could afford, because I needed a place for a baby seat. And I didn't want to feel like I'd completely given up on fun. So, giant RWD V8 it is.

I'm 6'2" and pretty narrow. Fit in the Spyder just perfectly, but something about the instrument, pedal, and dash angles on SW20s never quite worked for me.

Huh. You are almost exactly the same measurements as me, and I fit like a glove. Must be the torso/leg ratio, or something. SW20s make me feel like I am in a cockpit, especially with the entirely driver oriented dash, I love em. Different strokes for different folks, though.

I love V8 sedans myself, so I completely understand the choice. I would probably insist on finding something manual, but for a daily I can understand settling on an auto. I will have an M5 someday, when the time is right.
