I need to work on my sales pitch and finding money. We have a future jalopnik on our hands and I want to start him racing soon. He is 19 months right now. He climbed in to the car on his own and literally we took him kicking and screaming out of the driver's seat when it was time to go. He knew about putting it in gear and the turn signals... what he has learned from the back seat is scary.

Also I am trying to get an image to load.

What kind of Pontiac is that? If it's not a G8, I'd consider getting one...you know...to make sure he grows up right..:D

careful, once they can undo their own seatbelt, and understand gearstick jiggling and how to release the handbrake you are a "daddy's just going to be right outside at the walk up ATM" trip away from your car slowly rolling into something solid.

for us less rich Jalops, I made step one be their own computer drivign setup

That is the plan. The question is how to achieve Step 1 when my better half thinks I'm insane for suggesting it.

I have the full racing simulator thing going. As soon as he can reach the pedals he'll be running on iRacing. I'll just ask them to disable his voice chat so he doesn't get himself banned for trash talking like every other child ever.

For the record his eyes are about as blue as the "publish" button here on Jalopnik. He's going to be a lady killer with his eyes.

We don't even have to use the hand brake. Thankfully the only way to put the car in gear is to apply the brake and his legs are quite short. He has a long way to go to be able to achieve that.

my daughter is getting pretty good with the pedals, brake and accelerator only, but I still do speed control for my son still and he just steers... poorly

My eyes used to be more blue than they are not. They're more of a bluish green. The deep shade of blue he has i have no idea.

My wife's Pontiac Vibe. She purchased it before I met her.

He wants to be your valet the next time you go out. Will you let him park your car?

Nice! I'm at the same place with my 18 month old. They really do pay attention.

I got him out of the car the other day and the top portion of his belt was unbuckled. I thought maybe I had forgotten to buckle it. Then I was putting him in 2 days later and it looked like he undid it himself as I was trying to get him in. There's no way he can undo the part down by his legs yet because he isn't strong enough and won't be for a while. Still he got the top part undone.

yeah, ok when they learn it old enough that they can also be taught the importance of not doing so, scary when they are too young to understand the importance
