I hate promoting heresy, but there are engines that would fit a hell of a lot better than a Coyote. Not to say an LS. Maybe a Jag aluminum V8, so it's sort of in-brand?

Also, big rear tires are only acceptable if they don't interfere with the shaggin' space. Thus, tub, but with enough rear suspension lift so that the tubs aren't higher than the floor.

but people have been putting 5 liter Ford V8s in Pintos since the 70's. A 351C would be cooler just for carbie V8 beastly-ness.

351's fine. I was under the impression the Coyote was perhaps a bit on the wide side to be an easy fit, though.

My dad had one of these....I posted a pic a while ago. It was white, and had similar stripes in different colors. I shudder to think of how life would be if he still had it....

This may help. The Coyote has the cams set a bit further down, but is otherwise fairly similar to the standard DOHC. DOHC engines are just *WIDE*.

Here's one in a 60s Mustang. Notice they've had to completely blow out the shock towers and swap to something else. Not to say you couldn't fit it in the Pinto, with its front suspension being fairly low profile, but it would be tight.

Here's another Coyote next to a big-block Mopar.

Like I was saying, probably can be made to fit, but some other swaps might be easier space-wise.

Hell yeah!

I'd love to have one of those with a stroked and poked 351W and a 5 speed.
