Local show at the High School. Not a huge turnout. Not very well advertised, but I did manage a few good shots... Edit..... Think the first few got Kinja'd. I can see them when I try to edit, but posting shows nothing.....

I love the super-clean lines of this generation of Mustang. Not a fan of the changes that have come since, sadly.

He was only there for a few minutes before I split, but I didn't recognize the motor at all.... There was a decent size turbo feeding it though.

Are these all cars of students at your high school?

No, the school hosted the event though. I've not been a student there for 20 years. Class of 1994.

I think the little Honda Trail would be awesome for errands around town. There's a few on Ebay. One for almost $4K. For that price, my wife would make sure that I would spend the next few years in a basement apartment......

What's with the intake on that old Ford? Also, why does it have a Cobra badge on the grill?

The snorkels go to where the brights would normally be. As far as the Cobra emblem, I guess it's just the owner's preference to put one there.

Yeah I saw that but then why have a cowl induction hood? The whole point of the cowl is to suck in air at the back of the hood. With a sealed off air cleaner, no air from the cowl gets into the intake. Seems a bit counterproductive.
Those metals ducts also suck heat from the engine, which makes it pull in hot air. Not that it really matters much in an NA application, but the cowl would feed cooler air into the engine.

Well, it won't fit under the stock hood what with the motor actully being punched out to 523 cubes with a high rise intake and much better breathing heads. That and perhaps he prefers the look to a hood with a hilborn setup. The metal ducting isn't really gonna have that much heat soak. If any at all. They're pulling air from in front of the car instead of what is being redirected from the windshield. To actually seal that cowl to feed the carb on that car is probably much more costly for zero gain.

Now that you point it out I can see it is sticking pretty far above the fenders. I didn't notice that. (Zooming on pics sucks on my phone.) I'm not familiar with a hillborn setup. He should just go all out and not run a filter. :-)
