Looks like a fun. Something to drive hard and enjoy.

I'm sure many Porsche purists will have a brain aneurysm at the sight of it, but I'd drive the shit out of that

My body feels weird, but I think it's telling me that I REALLY want one.

Nasty in a good way.
I've since found a pic to better see the "windshield".

It's like an old school Boxster Spyder (which I guess is just a Boxster version of the 911 Speedster).
Add it to my list of thing I want but will never realistically have.
And I found a bit of a build thread for it:

Super, cheers!
Yes, kinda like an '88 speedster without a proper windshield on a 70's chassis with no exterior door handles and RS tail lights. lol

That would be a speedster tonneau cover.
Pretty much all 911/964 speedsters had them to cover up the folded top, and smooth the bodywork's looks.
Actually, the super-short windscreen is the real departure on this car... followed by the general dis-sheveled, and mis-matched look.
The real/original speedsters had a customized windshield that was lower than other Cabriolets, but not usually plastic, and not THAT short.

Oh I know thats what it was, I just hate the overall build of the car. I also know that the custom pictured in the main article is not an original speedster

I would agree with you that a Porsche is not the car to have as a "rat rod" disheveled mess.
Patina or whatever... but Porsches deserve far better than to be left as a mess.
I get the spyder-like deal, with a plexi windscreen, and smoothed open cockpit bodywork, and competetion prepared, like the 911R simplified tail lights, and other simplifications and stripped-down treatment.
I get the idea of resurrecting a 911 Cabriolet, or even a Targa that was nearly dead.
But it really should be finished properly. The Porsche crest deserves to be put on a car done purposefully, and also well.

I agree its a nice idea, just executed poorly
