I'm not allowed to drive my car until the brake situation gets figured out.

Kinja'd!!!

Other than the LOUD squeaking that happens as the brakes warm up, there's also an issue where the brakes are locking up under normal braking conditions. And since I have no ABS (which I'm supposed to) my parents and I have deemed it unsafe to drive until we get it fixed.

So until then, I have to drive the truck around. Oh damn.

This could very well be the last straw that causes us to sell the old bus.

Very much yes.

And I almost rear ended a car yesterday because my brakes locked.

The locking brake issue is a bit odd, were the bolts tightened to the proper torque? Any other things that could contribute to this issue?

We have literally no clue what the hell is causing it! The front discs are the ones that are locking and the only thing we did up front is change of of the flex-y brake lines! We properly bled them after we changed the line.

We changed the entire drum setup on the back, but those aren't having an issue.

Maybe those new brake lines are sending too much fluid to the caliper? I'm thinking that for some reason.

Try a low budget brake replacement...

That could be, but those lines are identical to the ones we took off it in the first place.

The anchor MIGHT work, but someone would have to ride in the back and toss it out every time!

Attach the chain to the handbrake so that when you pull the handbrake it draws the anchor back in and vice versa. It'll be the ultimate ghetto fix.

Not familiar with the astrosafaris but it sounds like maybe the proportioning valve is locked up sending all pressure forward. Usually they lock up the other direction though.

I dunno. My dad has a friend who's a certified mechanic who's gonna take a look.
