Oppos - I did the most standard and lame thing... crunched the front fascia of my E39 against a tall curb.
Yes, I did. Couldn't see it well (damn post office!!), and now the bottom of the fascia (air dam, whatever you want to call it) is totally cracked. The whole front bumper assembly feels like it's fiberglass, I have it patched with tape at the moment. I'd like to mend my car, since I'm hoping to sell it soon in hopes of getting a truck soon (family need).
Does anyone know of a reliable and preferably inexpensive body shop in the Seattle Tacoma area?
Many many thanks!

Replacement front bumpers run about $300-$500 on ebay. I say just pick up a new one on ebay and paint it to match. I can't attest to their quality, though.
I feel your pain. We moved into a house and my wife nailed the front bumper on the driveway...several times. I'd get a new one (installation is simple - two bolts and removing the fender lining) but I'm pretty sure she'll just do it again. And again. And again.

sorry man. I've had my car worked in twice, once was cheap crappy work and once was expensive, great work. That place was Jerry's on bainbridge. I used to work there years ago and they're honest and good at their job but inconvenient (island) and not cheap.

One of my best buds runs 5 Gerber Collision and Glass. He's mostly up North (Everett, Woodinville, etc.) but I believe he's a couple in South Seattle. Let me know I'll get you some contact info.

BMW Seattle uses them, they're really great and they know your car. I took my E30 there a while back to repair and repaint the rear bumper. They're better priced than Metro Auto with just as high quality work.
