My heart is skipping beats every time it gets up or whines for a long period of time. I doubt I'll be able to sleep from all the worry. Also has me thinking about what kind of stresses/worries parents go through with their own children when they first start out.
FD3S for you.

It's only 4 years younger than me but you have a good point.

I've got it beat by 2 years. Damn that's an old dog.

I'm three years older.
I'm pretty sure that dog's old enough to sign up for the military (with parental consent).

Maybe it's time? It's hard to let go, but we all have to go sometime. Stop the suffering.

The owner won't let it go, but I agree that if you love it then you must put it out of its misery.

I've never been to a funeral - not even for my parents or family. I just can't do it. Probably because I've helped a few of my beloved pets escape their suffering, and I cried uncontrollably for days afterwards.
