Shortly after we had gotten out Leaf my dad and I took he 21 mile trip to the conshohocken (PA) Ikea, and REI. Only having our Leaf for a week we were interested to see how accurate the range predictions were. Anyway, when we got to the REI we parked farther than was necessary (because new car). When we got out of the store we found a white leaf parked next to ours! They made friends. Then we ran into the same white Leaf at Ikea. When leaves are driving near each other they should make the noise of leaves rustling. Random thought.

People driving Leafs to both REI and Ikea? Really breaking stereotypes there, man!

That rustling leaves idea is freaking great.

Model S' should beep and show you the other cars location on the screen.

They should. At least show when another Tesla is in the area. I don't know if the average Tesla buyer around me would care, but for those that do... The Leaf people are friendly, and it's not uncommon for Leaf owners to wave. The Tesla people though are more coming from German luxury and they really don't care about anyone or anything else but themselves.

The only noise I imagine a LEAF making is a very faint warble at higher speeds. at slow speeds, it's too quiet, and it creeps me out when I hear one cruising in a parking lot. I fear it will run me over. Only thing I can hear are the tires picking up pebbles, and I have no reference on how fast it's going.

Yes. At speed there is really no indication how fast you're really going. And in parking lots some people are completely oblivious to it.

I always like parking next to cars like mine; got duped yesterday, saw the AMG badge, pulled in next to it, got out to peer in the window... badge slut C240 :(
