I rainx'd my wife's car and mine. I might have did it wrong because it didn't make on fucking bit of difference.

There wasn't enough characters left for "Closed course - professional driver - do not attempt"

I actually have some, and it's fantastic. However, it doesn't seem to ever last long enough to appreciate it. I'll put it on, then I won't use the wipers for a week, then I'll saw, "Wow, I forgot I put it on, this is amazing!" Then another week will go by, then I'll forget all about. it.

I usually don't bother with it unless we're about to take a road trip or something. I can see how people who drive for a living would swear by it.

At slow speeds you wont notice it very much, but anything over 25 you will notice it enormously. It makes a HUGE difference. I've driven in downpours without even turning on my wipers because I did not need to. I've even driven and not known it was lightly raining. Obviously there are times when you have to turn on your wipers but even then you more than likely will not have to turn them on high. It also lasts a few weeks unless you use your wipers a lot or you kill a lot of bugs with your windshield. I highly recommend it during the rainy and snowy seasons.

I guess I'll keep applying it while I still have some.

I squirt it directly on the windshield then wipe it around with a paper towel, smearing it around. I then flip the paper towel to a clean side and wipe off the excess and that's it.

Make sure the window is clean first too.

Are your headlights on? I almost rear-ended somebody yesterday because I couldn't see his taillights. Visibility was like 5 feet.

its a mini, even with a lighthouse lamp rotating on the rear it'd be hard to see in US traffic

That's what I did after I cleaned them. Maybe my Rainx is too old?

You bet my lights were on. Although, I'm not sure how visible they were. (lights are on in this photo)

Fortunately, the downpour started just as I entered my neighborhood. Glad I got home when I did.

I've switched to using Invisible Glass to clean my windows, and it seems to work better than RainX, somehow

Regarding how long rain-x lasts, I put it on my stang years ago and don't think I've re-applied it. I do use Rain-X wind-shield wiper fluid though. As others have said, at low speeds it not very useful, but when traveling faster, it makes the visibility much better.
