The sleeper-ness of the M cars of that generation are definitely part of their appeal (to me).

Ha, just last week, I was sitting at a light and I see an E46 M3 rolling up in the rearview mirror to my left. It's a warm day, so the window goes down to listen to the music. He is slightly behind me so I am pretty much lined up with the rear of the fender and can barely see back into the cockpit. Giant Eagle (local supermarket) 20-something stock boy. I am thinking two things:
a. How does a young kid working a min wage job afford that car?
b. I can figure out who this kid is since I know his manager
We are both turning left when the light turns green (two lanes). As he takes off, something seems amiss...the sound. It's not right. As he passes I see that it's a plain 328i with an M3 front clip and wheels.
Guess that answered how a Giant Eagle stock boy can afford an M3 :-) At least he has good taste and might be in the middle of an interesting project. I am still going try to find out about it.

haha yeah I went to a Giant Eagle when I was staying in ohio once. I was in pittsburgh last dec for business but I had no reason to go supermarket hunting. I did visit canton ave tho.
