One of the pieces of plastic that holds my healights in place snapped off. It looks like it had been ghetto repaired and not replaced as it should have been this past Feb.

Can't sr20 from here, but the way things are going this is kinda typical. Everything is going wrong, and I don't have time to fix anything. Help me Oppo I'm dyin'

This is a left side light, and mine is on the right side, but the concept is the same. The plastic bar near the turnsignal snapped. I can't get to a junkyard to get a new lamp. I may just have to ducttape it for now.

My stepdad's headlight is wedged in with cardboard and it just passed its MOT. Ghetto repairs with tape would be a step up for me.

Just don't drive at night. Bam! Problem solved!

Seriously though that sucks? Is it expensive to buy new?

Not really $80-90 for a new assembly. It's just that I don't really have the time to get one before I leave saturday morning. Leave saturday afternoon after you fix it you say? Can't. Wedding at 6 pm on saturday and it's a 503 km drive.

JB weld or epoxy it while you shop for a replacement [car, cause you shouldn't ever drive a Cavalier]

Replacement car coming in 2.5 years. For now driving what I can afford.

Still, my neighbor had a Cavalier that was always in the shop, so he had to drive his SRT8 Magnum (first world problems) more often. Get a Corolla, it's probably better with gas, should be cheap to find and should be way easier to unload when you're done with it.

What year was his Cavalier?

To be honest in general that's the opposite experience of what I have had.

I am at 180,000 kms now and over 4 years of ownership the car sits in a shop about one week every two years.

This only broke because my friend is an idiot and put it into a snowbank.

I'll second the JB Weld. If you are feeling extra ghetto, try some dollar store epoxy. Some if it is not all that bad.

The one that was also sold as a Toyota.

Well, as if to validate your viewpoint Jason just posted on the FP that the Cavalier was the worst GM car ever made. Lol.
