Glances at thumbnail: good looking, low mileage, decently priced, post face lift 944.
Clicks ad and sees its an automatic. Who decided to buy an auto 944?! They should be shot. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I feel like this will be the situation in ten to twenty years when Toyobarus are cheap.

Who decided to buy a Trans Am with an auto?

Well, if you already had a 944, it'd be a nice his & hers for a non-manual-driving wife. That's about the only justification I can think of outside disability.

It's like some sort of reverse unicorn.

Stupidly, most people in the late 70s. The only way you could get a manual trans in 1981 when my car was built was by ordering the Chevy 305.

I'm thinking a 5- or 6-speed swap may be in order somewhere down the road...

You mean a horse with a bullet hole in its skull? Ya, I wish it was a dead horse.

My wife drives stick, as should yours.

LSX454 and a TR6060...

Wait why wouldn't you want an awesome 3 speed automatic transmission in your 944?
I'm confused.

I saw a 944 today in Nashville that looked exactly like this—leather bra and all. It was hideous.

Well, yeah. That being said, people do crazy things for love. Like not press the "I can't drive stick!" issue.

At least said auto is buildable to shift hard, and can be fitted with a hurst shifter. I mean, as far as fig leaves for the disgrace of having an auto go, the Trans Am has a couple big ones.

And in some cultures your wife is forbidden to touch any stick other than your own.

I am uncultured and don't get this "as far as fig leaves for the disgrace of having an auto go, the Trans Am has a couple big ones."

The problem here is that the demographic for these cars is much older, and are more likely to have knee/joint issues. My uncle took a piece of shrapnel in his knee during Desert Storm, and he can't really handle a clutch anymore. Same with my soon to be father-in-law, he hurt his knee playing football in college, and is limited to just two pedals now as well. It happens.

I wonder what the manual/auto sales breakdown of 86's is...

Early Renaissance art depictions of Adam and Eve and other nekkid people typically included a fig leaf over the genitals. To hide the shame/whatever of said genitals or more correctly the offensiveness to their audience of being nekkid.

Am I hearing "install two-speed Dynaglide or Ford-O-Matic in Porsche 944"? Cause, that's what I'm hearing.

People who buy them to drag race.
