South Carolina is currently running this rather over-dramatic seat belt PSA on TV. Now, seatbelts are important, and I think most people are aware of that now, but even still, there are still some folks that won't wear seat belts when they drive. That being said, I've never ridden with someone that aggressively told me to not buckle up and join them on their death wish.

The excuses people make for not wearing a seatbelt are just silly. I remember being on a ski lift with some older guys (I was 13 at the time) who just said "fuck the safety bar, we don't need it." and I was yelling in my 13 year old voice, annoying the hell out of them, so we could get the bar down.

Not gonna lie, I don't usually put the bar down on the lift either. If it gets a little too windy I might put it down, or if I'm on with someone that does.

That's actually surprising, I never saw anyone not use it , other than that situation I had years ago. Maybe it's because I've seen workers enforce it at the lifts.

Yeah, I always ask first if they ride with the bar down. I'll only do it on lifts I'm comfortable with.
