Owning a car in NYC is a pain. Everyone, especially us car enthusiasts based here, knows that. There are certain things that make it worth it though, like parking right in front of your prom venue, and walking out on a rainy saturday evening and driving away in style, as your friends look enviously on as they get into a dirty-ass Crown Victoria and pay 15 dollars to get to the "after-parties".
Some more pictures from the events of the day.
Slightly overexposed picture...

Rusty mess on my rear hatch from when my dad did something stupid that I can't remember :(

It's moments like these that make all the alternate side parking wars worth it :)

yeah when I saw that pic on FB I was like "hang the fuck on".
He needs some turbo twist wheels they look good on like everything. I almost want a set for my BMW lol

Oh yeah I told him to get a set of those wheels. They would look so good and I wouldn't have to avert my eyes from the wheel arches every time I get near his car. Driving behind it makes the car look like a 924 with a wide body kit of which the owner forgot to buy wider wheels/spacers!

I mean how could you not
and I'm still a fan of you upgrading to one of these haha

I would be totally down for a 928 or 944, provided they fit my cheap-o budget, or want to trade for my 924 haha. The 928 is like the coolest car ever when they're clean, especially the older ones with their oozing 80's opulence.
Eventually my plan with the 924 might be to get it halfway presentable, try to sell it for like 1k, find a basket case 944 and work from there. Or a miata. Always miata.

Lol yeah I was the same when I met them. I was like "damn these kids is only 3/4 my age and 3x as smart haha.

No ****ing miatas!
You could get a 86.5 928s, it'll have the good 5.0L DOHC but still look like the older cars. You might have to move into a cardboard box though if you own a 928, they are stupidly expensive to maintain. My friend has 12 grand into his car and you'd have no idea where it went if you just looked at it.

That 1st photo looks great.
2 old European cars in front of what looks like a nightclub? *cough*Albanianmafia*cough*
On a serious note, I love those 1st gen ML's A LOT. The Porsche also looks sexayy

It was expensive as fuck.

But they're sooooo fun. They don't have that "cool" to them though like older cars do and maybe even the 924 could have if it was clean. I also really like S14 240SX's.
I mean anything would be better than the 2.0 from the 924 really. Yeah they're very expensive to maintain, the biggest downside to those cars. The 924 might as well be a VW except for a few specific parts (all of which are probably broken on my car) in terms of maintenance.

no miatas
Do you think we could shoehorn a LSx into your 924? That actually would make it more reliable lol
![]() 05/13/2014 at 22:17 |

Yeah it's been done and the results are insane. That's one of my possible routes with this car but I'd have a lot to learn and would need help. Everything I've done on the 924 so far I've done by myself with no help since Aaron is no use in terms of helping me wrench on stuff and the car sits on a lot in Long Island. They sell adaptor plates and everything and the weight balance doesn't even get that messed up.

Thank you. Indeed, our school rented out that club from 7-10 to store about 50 hormonal teenagers for the night. Thank you, I love my ML as well, super reliable and decently good looking. The 944 belongs to my friend Aaron.

Damn you are just ripping him to SHREDS tonight haha
find a cheap 5.3L from a wrecked any GMT800-900 in the world, or if you're lucky a 6.0 out of a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck.
Get a place to work, some tools, some beer (ask your parents permission) and lets fucking do this. I've never engine swapped a car but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

HA.
I've got most of the tools sans an engine hoist, and probably some welding equipment. Now you've got me looking for engines, damn. Would you actually be up to help me make some sort of insane ratty LSx powered 924? The best thing would be to leave it looking the way it is right now on the outside for a while haha. Ultimate sleeper.
I helped with an engine swap on a mk3 golf the other day at a LeMons race. They did it in like 4-5 hours but that was with the same ABA engine. Didn't seem to hard and they were in the middle of a field. I think it's the wiring and all that that would be painful.

Woo driving away in style especially in the rain (and my god it rained super hard on Saturday) is the greatest feeling! Hope you scored lol
