FYI, I don't like frogs. They are gross little amphibians.

This is the perfect situation for this.

I always wondered if "frog" was derogatory, like if French people actually take offense at the term.

That's a good question. I would guess they would, but it certainly doesn't seem as offensive as other racial epithets at face value.
Anything derogatory term like that just annoys me. It's childish and stupid. The only thing that annoys me more is when people can't think of anything more creative to do than twist someone's name (for example, Barack Obummer)

DAMNIT that would have been amazing

I flew on an Airbus once about 15 years ago. Probably a 320, from Munich to Amsterdam. It was creaky and sounded brittle, if that makes any sense. And I hate the idea of the sidestick, where one pilot can fly without any awareness of what the other pilot is doing (see Air France 447). I'm sure they're perfectly good airplanes, I'm just partial to Boeing in the same way I'm partial to VW.

Being creaky and sounding brittle is likely a result of the interior, not the airframe. It's possible that Airbus's interiors are cheap, but Boeing's aren't exactly Rolls Royce standard either.
Air France 447 wasn't ONLY the sidestick being at fault to be fair.
I'm not picky when it comes to commercial jets. They are the dishwashers of aviation: they have one basic job to do and they have to be especially terrible to do it poorly enough to make a difference.
It wouldn't even really matter if I was picky because it isn't really up to me what jet I fly on, it depends on what the airline decides to use for that route. Going out of my way to make sure I fly on a certain manufacturers jet would be way too much work unless I was flying primarily to fly on a certain jet, i.e. booking a specific flight to fly on the 787.

Partial to Boeing because I have a lot of family members that work there. I'm sure both planes are fine to fly in, but I've never flown so..

As a pilot, I just flat out don't like the Airbus design philosophy, especially when it comes to their autopilots.

No, the whole plane was creaking and groaning. But obviously, I reached my destination safely.
"If it's not Boeing, I'm not going" is a corporate slogan (I'm sure you knew that), and I too would never book a flight based on the equipment. I'll fly whatever the airline schedules for the least amount of money.
And no, AF447 wasn't just the sidestick, but I think it was certainly a contributing factor. I question the design decision that lets pilots be unaware of each other's actions.

Can't be worse than "Surrender Monkey"

Personally, I'll fly anything that isn't old and Soviet, because ... some of that shit ... hoo boy.

I don't want to wade into Boeing vs Airbus, but Triborough isn't really your average random FP burner. He's been around on the 'lopnik for ages.
