A 2000 Subaru Legacy L!

Not precisely *the* sexiest of Scoobies, but I really like her. Such a vast difference between that little wagon and the Chevy Venture.

The biggest difference of course, having a manual transmission and being so much lower to the ground. Everything else is vanilla (NOT beige!)- stock stereo (which is pretty decent for a stock stereo), and no leather, no special decals or anything.

And it's just perfect. I can feel the road again. I don't have to slow down for the S-curves, whether I'm doing 70km/h or 120km/h. The bolsters aren't designed for soccer moms. In fact, they are quite possibly the best seats I've had in any previously enjoyed car I've ever had!

And the doors don't lock when I go above 30km/h.

So much joy.

Hell yeah! I kinda want to wash her first, but I definitely need light, as it's 2230 hrs at the moment. There's a couple of rusty bits on the back fenders, but nothing rattles. so that's what counts. Operational trumps cosmetics, every time.

Damn straight! When I can finally justify buying a drumset, ain't no way I'm stuffing one in a hatch or 4-door ever again. Putting one into a Corolla was always a pain in the crotch (sometimes literally).

A brother's got needs, y'dig?

Hell yea! I had a 2000 Legacy L as well. 5sp 5 door as well (now that I think about it did the L denote wagon?). Man's gotta carry his hobbies around somehow. Mine was snowboards and longboards.

Just keep an eye on your head gasket. If my memory serves me those years were definitely notorious for them. I lucked out.

Enjoy!

I most certainly will!

The previous owner is a co-worker, and also happens to be a professional mechanic, so recently installed clutch, brakes and timing chain are a big plus! I'll be getting an oil-change soon, and having had blown head-gaskets on previous vehicles (Celebrity wagon and '90 Corolla), I'm rather vigilant about that sort of thing now, especially on higher-strung imports.
