Just how stiff is the suspension? The reason I ask is because I regularly drive my grandmother's Focus SE and it's pretty skippy on these bumpy Puertoriccan roads. Obviously Focus != Fiesta but maybe the Focus suffers from being the cheap model with lower budget suspension.

It's lively but comfortable. It smooths out with speed as well. Comparable to the E46 M3 I had.

I'm only 300 miles in but its definitely stiffer than our regular fiesta. Lower speeds are more noticeable (and highway speeds are not as bad). It definitely feels more sporty less soft, but it hasn't bothered me yet. I do assume that maybe Kansas roads are less bumpy than PR? I had a Tiburon several years ago that was just plain stiff and this is much better.

Thanks! Was thinking of buying a new car next year since my Malibu is starting to feel a bit worn and this is at the top of my list of possible replacements.

Well it wouldn't be the stiffest car I've ever been in round here based on your description so I suppose I can manage. Thanks!

Way more comfortable than anything on coilovers. But an FR-S provides more comfort while being just as responsive. To my ass, I think the heavy nose transmits bumps to the driver more harshly than other sports-tuned vehicles. I think the Focus ST's longer wheelbase helps make it a touch more comfortable too. However in that case, the Fiesta is more immediate with inputs and response. The car doesn't crash over railroad crossings but it was quite susceptible to undulations in the freeway near my house. Both it and my jetta hit some sort of resonance between the suspension and pavement imperfections that results in the car pitching you up and out of your seat. I did not notice this in the FR-S nor did I notice it in a mustang with the track pack. But again, it was not nearly as bad in the ST as it was in my jetta on RSK coilovers.

To summarize - not going to lie, one of the harsher rides despite the small size, but if you're used to customized cars, it's more comfortable than most of them with heavily lowered and stiffened setups.

Significantly stiffer than the 2010 GTI I also have. Tends to pogo stick a bit when hitting large bumps. I love it.

It isn't too much fun in southeastern Michigan. Expansion joints and potholes.

I don't notice but the only other car I've ever driven over long periods of time is an Audi S4 Avant.
