Dear 1337,
Fuck you. This decision is too hard.

Who else made their decision as soon as they saw the 288 lead pic?

I CAN'T CHOOSE.

288 GTO ONLY because I'd know I'd kill myself in an RS200.

You, my dear friend, is a freaking sadistic bastard!
No vote for you!

death by tree versus death by firey death.

Solution: RS200 motor in 288GTO body and suspension.

RS200. Why be a wanker in a not new Ferrari (you could go buy a 308 and 99.99% of the world would have no idea) when you could instead drive a unicorn. The answer is always group B though

I couldn't bring myself to spank the 288GTO on the track (too worried that it would brake) but I have no moral issue about rallying a classic RS200.

288. I get the whole rare Group B homologation thing, but the RS200 doesn't do much for me.

The 288 is my favorite Ferrari and one of my all-time favorite cars so, even though I'm an insufferable Ford Fanboi, this one was easy for me. ;)

I have to go with my heart on this one. The RS is an incredible machine, and from a technical standpoint, arguably more impressive than the 288. Arguably. As a major force in the heyday of unrestricted rally cars, it's a reminder of bygone golden days, snuffed out all too early by scared bean-counters who were entirely too content to let little things like "incredible danger to drivers and spectators" and "nearly certain death for both car and driver" put a stop to some of the greatest racing to ever be witnessed by human-kind.
BUT...
That shape. That color. That SOUND, the furious thrashing of eight cylinders barely coaxed into working together with two unruly turbochargers to harness several hundred Italian thoroughbreds... The intoxicating silhouette of the body, the curve of the rear wheel flowing into the front fender, bringing to mind the sight of a beautiful, reclining woman. The low-mounted lights and flush-filled wheel wells that hint of a purpose greater than mere boulevard posturing. This is the stuff of dreams, the stuff of bedroom posters on an impressionable youngster's wall.
And so, where my brain says, "No, you fool, the RS200! More from less! Race-proven! All-wheel-drive! Light-weight!", my heart, ever a slave to passion and whim, says, "There was only ever one choice, really."

There is only one car I would pick over a 288 GTO. And this ain't it. RS is a sweeeeet car, but ain't no way no how I'm passing up the Because Racecar that started the Ferrari Because Racecar street series.
Granted, that's just my opinion.
