Autogeek had a 15% off sale last night so I bought a ton of crap I felt like I needed but really didn't. Of all the stuff I bought, I picked up a foam cannon that works off a power washer. It'll be funny to see if this works off my electric power washer since its rated for 23-2600psi and my pressure washer puts out 1600psi.

Who here has had any luck with these?

I bet a foam cannon might be even more fun than a steam pressure washer.

/I totally used to clean heavy equipment with a pressure washer + boiler

You use one of those heated pressure washers? My friend used something like that on my engine bay and wow did it lift a ton of dirt/grime off.

They make some for garden hoses that work on low pressure but the ones for power washers tend to do their job better

I worked three summers running at an equipment rental place during college. Kerosene-powered heated pressure washer of death is a great thing - particularly when the thermostat is broken, and you have to keep switching off the heat as it starts to flash-boil. 200 degree water + grease and dirt deposits = ain't no thang.

Been thinking of getting a steam cleaner built into an electric pressure washer (only 1600psi)... or is there something else I should be looking at?

When you have deadly amounts of steam, you don't need obscene pressure, and the lower your operating pressure, the longer your pump will last in general. Steam pressure washers are tricky to move around, though, so keep that in mind. Absolutely amazing on concrete, by the way.

I have one that works off a regular garden hose. It doesn't foam to that degree but it works pretty good. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm strange everytime I use it. "There he is again spraying that stuff all over his car. Didn't he just do that 5 days ago" It works really well in winter to remove the snowy road sand and chemicals. Saves me a lot of money compared to going to the touchless car wash every 3 days. Plus I can use it before I pull into the garage to prevent this.

bleck!

Thats basically what I've heard about the hose ones. Even the write up on autogeek was like "its not as powerful as the foam cannon but its still pretty good" lol. Thats why I took a gamble on the power washer one

Nice! Good to know, I'm looking at this one from Briggs so the mobility isn't an issue

Is there any way one of these could be used without using a hose bib? I'm wondering if there is a way you could rise off the road grime even if temps are below freezing.

As long as you're doing only small projects, probably fine. I'm a little iffy on the durability for really long term use, and I'm not certain on how it heats, but it's probably fine. I'm used to this .

Not that I can think of. I guess I'm lucky because my hose faucet is in the garage, and has a hot + cold water connection. If it was outside I wouldn't be able to use it.
