Let's have a little oppo game. What's the best car your mother has owned since she's been a mother?
My mom currently drives a 2013 A5, which is so much cooler than the minivans she had when I was a small child.

i'd say it was the '92 lincoln mark vii lsc. my grandpa ran a body shop, so it was black laquer, the 5.0 was cammed, and the people who bought it live down the street. my friends would most likely say it was her '98 z/28.

and yes I'm well aware there's not room in here for kids. 3 are grown and I do have a practical CUV to drive the 10 yr old around in.

I don't know about "coolest" but my mom had an '88 Jetta GLI 5-speed. That was her favorite.

Not hers pictured but identical. My grandfather bought this new shortly before he passed, then my mom had it until 1991-2(somewhere around there). She had to stop driving shortly after that due to medical issues.
Favorite memory.

My mom hasn't owned anything that interesting but she has driven some great cars including Lancia Delta HF turbo (one of her favorite cars) and some 80's Bentley.

I've been told my mother had a sweet Celica before I was born :/ when I was in middle school, she got a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder (4cyl, not the gts pictured) which was almost cool at the time because of FF2. My youngest sister is driving it now.
Right now my mom has a white Lincoln MKX she inherited from my grandmother. She is casually in the market for a new Camaro SS because her youngest sister, the Daddy's girl of the bunch, went through 2 or 3 back in the 80s before my grandpa stopped buying her new ones.

Since motherhood, my mom has owned:
1991 Honda Accord
1996 Volvo 850 T5
2003 BMW 325xi
2009 Audi A5 3.2
I'd say the Volvo.

My Mom's favorite car was her midnight blue '84 Oldsmobile Delta 88 coupe. She refused to drive "an ugly ass four door" until I was in high school, when she got into real estate.
I'd love to have another of those giant coupes. I almost bought one to fix up from my neighbor years ago. He had one sitting without plates in our apartment building parking lot. We agreed to a price of $150, but when I went to pick up the keys and title, his girlfriend flipped out at me and chased me away. The city towed it for having no plates a week later.

I grew up around a slow old Volvo wagon thing. Now she's got a Mercedes E-Class. Similar to the one pictured. Before she was a mother........ Different story.
I tried to convert her to Audiism without sucess...

I'm speculating here, but I'm pretty sure I have the right one. A 1986 Honda Civic was the first new car she ever bought on her own. Hers was blue, and even more basic than this one (it didn't even come with the black rub strip along the side of the body). She bought it from Vidmar Honda in Pueblo. She had only wanted one option, a rear wiper. She didn't get it, because it meant she'd have had to go up to the DX which was $700 more. Doesn't sound like much, but the one she bought was only just over $6k so that would have been adding over 10% to the price. I did kind of wish she had gotten the DX, because it would have had A/C. Vinyl seats in summer are not a good time.
It was the barest of barebones cars. It didn't even come with a radio, so she had to have one put in. The interior smelled weird; the best way I could describe it was rancid Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup. That was its new-car smell! The catalytic converter always smelled faintly of rotten eggs. That's not the most pleasant combo on a hot day.
She loved it. It never broke down, always got ridiculous gas mileage, and was even fun to drive if not terribly fast. 6 years after she bought it, I learned to drive stick on its 4-speed manual. I think it's the car where her love of simple, base cars rubbed off on me. She didn't let me drive it all that much (I had my own car, after all), but I remember how light it was and it even cornered pretty well.
When I was a senior in high school, my stepdad pestered her into trading it in for a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood. It was the worst decision ever. That Cadillac was a piece of shit that constantly broke down. She's still a little bitter about that.
