!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ......very cool and unique ride!! You can use as a race car or just display it as advertising for your track, vw dealership, or other business; it gets noticed by everyone!! Not Street Legal. How many times have you seen a VW Beetle race car? You won't get a chance like this very often; This car has been raced at local circle track for one season in pure 4 class; car has always been very dependable-starts right up every time, transmission does not slip; Automatic transmission, so it is great for beginners; faster than straight shifts on takeoff; Has roll cage, Simpson straps, roll bar padding, lexan windshield and race seat installed; Includes lots of extra parts such as bumpers, door, spare wheel/tire, etc; At the end of the season, it started overheating, so we replaced radiator/hoses/timing belt/belt tensioner/water pump with metal impellor(not plastic that was on it)/thermostat/temperature sensor; installed new racing fan on radiator; still overheating, not sure why Also new CV Axel; New coil; high dollar racing plug wires; plugs; oil/oil filter; new window net; new battery No oil leaks, no transmission leaks; no smoke from exhaust; no check engine light; Car has 115 HP, weighs a little over 2300 lbs Part off race track flew up and punctured gas tank, we patched it, but it still has slow drip; we raced it like that for the last few races with no problems-junk yard had gas tank for $75-we just didn't put one on it since the leak was so slow;We got many compliments and comments on this car; you are a fan favorite, the minute they see you pull on the track; Has no set camber, so can be run on road course without worries-not specifically set up for circle tracks; Has less than 140,000 original miles; Have title if you need it; also comes with Chilton's repair manual Never in major wreck; Parts alone are worth the price; Putting a rollcage in one of these costs $$$$; transmission is good, extra body parts can be sold, Even if you don't want to race or display, you are getting a deal just to resell piece by piece; $1100 cash or possible trade/partial trade for guns, 4 cylinder car, motorcycle, etc; text/call !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

I'm sorry I stopped at the part when he said that it had an automatic.

I feel your pain. I would love adblock for Craigslist automatics. So many right combinations and then that.. well, let's just say I've turned down free cars for my principles.
However, all of that malarky can be unbolted, and something proper put in. The motor sounds toasty, though. Not a good toasty.

A ready-to-race track-legal race car with a rollcage & everything for $1100? That's a steal for any model car, even if it's a Geo Metro. The fact that this is an auto is sad, but not a dealbreaker at that price. The fact that it's a car not often tracked is a real plus, in my humble opinion. It also has the benefit of being related to a car that is tracked (the Golf), so you should be able to get performance parts for it easily.
If I had the money and lived closer to Tenn I'd be all over that.
