You can't eat cans of beans while driving and hammers cost $500 Canadian. Thats odd.

perhaps it's "don't drive while using a can opener" and "reward for $500 for finding the hidden hammer of truth"

That could well be. It would be hard to open a can while driving. They require a hands free can opener in all vehicles in Canada.

It's like one of the signs that no one knows what it is, the don't even put it on the drivers test

I found this pic on another site... someone said in the comments that it's no littering, and a $500 fine (it's a judges gavel, not a hammer). Makes sense to me. Now I can sleep without wondering what those silly Canadians are plotting with their wonky road signs.

I hear that Canadian can openers must have daytime opening lights as well.

in china they have to put up signs at mcdonalds expressly forbidding birthday cake.

My Canadian wife has confirmed that this is what the sign means. Rather than printing "Penalty for Littering $500" like they do here, they have to use images. Otherwise, they'd have to make the signs bi-lingual.

I've always thought that was beware of bicycles falling from the sky.
