I think I'm going to have to start catching up on these. That Escort is smexy.

...

Ah, it looks like 4oD are going to start clamping down on AdBlock soon. I suppose I won't be using that service much longer. (I've no problem with them wanting to make money off of their programming, but with the amount of ads they generally try to cram in there, 4oD is all but unusable without AdBlock. I'd rather just pay. God Save the BBC, I suppose.)

I've seen them all so far and have to say the Stag was probably the best so far. Especially the myth of the over heating poorly engineered engIne which turns out were just poorly made due to the time and motion policy.

I've been impressed with it as well :) makes me want to get started making a 32v Stag with 2 Dolomite Sprint heads though. That's dangerous thinking :)

I'm not a Stag person but the way they did this episode was great. Its nice to have some history and see some workings rather than some shows that say "look at what we bought, this what needs doing" then half an hour later listening to some over enthused but now knowledgeable presenter say "that's it, done. Doesn't she look good, listen to that engine". I want to see workings and listen to facts such as 'if you were to do this yourself, watch out for...... double check....... listen for........ you may want to upgrade THIS part for THAT part to get more power and make the engine more reliable on cold days'.

The Escort Mexico was also good but loved the Land Rover, especially as they took one for a spin up a hill in my home county in a Landy Series I registered in my city. So proud.

I really like the format too, especially as they've got a bit of history crossed with what people are doing with them now, a little explanation of why people love them and then the whole restoration aspect.

The next one's tomorrow and it's on the OG Mini. Should be a corker :)

Nice, I'll stick a few tins in the fridge to chill to sup while watching the programme after I finish nightshift.

Oh my god. Watching the Mini Cooper episode. Mini Cooper mk1 (okay, Austin Cooper mk1) with a Downton Engine in it. How awesome. Not only a very rare unrestored mk1 but one with the most powerful engine to of gone into a Cooper. I believe the euphemism we use in England is 'rarer than rocking horse 5hit'.

Just had a look on carandclassic.co.uk where they have a 1963 Downton 993cc for sale in France. Owner asking for GBP£48,000 (USD$80,908). What the hell!

Jesus Christ that's expensive. I suppose that's what you get for such popularity.

I wonder if the seller in Ireland knew it had a Downton engine...

The car above was a 1900 hour full restoration.

I'm guessing the seller in Northern Ireland wasn't fully aware of what he had. He'll be kicking himself now.

I'd love to find out what she went for at auction.

Her lott at Coys of Kensington.

Seems from some site searching the going rate for a mk1 Cooper is between £15,000-40,000 ($25,000-67,400).

Seems the money is all in the mk1 Coopers with mk2 going for only £2,500 ($42,100).

If you want to kill time. Check out

Sweet :) the girl I'm seeing rather liked the mini, so a Mk2 would be a good bet. Pick one up cheap and fix it, provided we last to the point where a car gift is on the cards...

Awesome. Even if it doesn't get to the 'car gift' point you can always either enjoy it as is to the point you built it to or do some rally mods, etc... and have it (I don't know why I'm calling a car it, her), and you have her as a weekend 'go kart'. Its not like she'll take up much space or cost that much to run.

Seeing all these beautiful cars is meaning my dream garage is going to have to be a warehouse or aircraft hangar at this rate. Oooow! Now I'm dreaming of how it'd set it up, etc... I need a cold shower.

Yeah, I get the feeling I'll need a hangar for all the cars I want. Luckily, most of them are dirt cheap at the moment so it shouldn't cost too much to get them initially :)

For me, it's not the space that's the problem. It's the ability to keep up with maintenance, or the money to pay someone else to do it for me. That'll be the limiting factor...
