One thing I've noticed about these in terms of firing order is that they have sequential fire on both end cylinder pairs and alternating fire on the middle four. That's got to make them intrinsically harder to keep quiet/well behaved in terms of motor mounts. I know, these typically aren't hi-po engines, but most modern V8s do the opposite.
