Oh hey, welcome back to The Joy Of Shooping . When we had left off, we had found our picture and then saved our work, before I had to leave to take my last two finals of the semester. For our next step, we are going to give this shoop a background, because shoops love backgrounds.

Kinja'd!!!

But, before we do that, it's a good idea to shrink down the image so that you don't overload and crash the program. Now, in order to get our background, I'm just going to insert a happy little square. After brining that little square into our world, we change its color to become our background. In this case, we're just going to leave it white.

The next step is to make the square into the size of our image. Then we just move the fellow behind our image. Now is a good time to save our projects, and this time when you save it, be sure to save it as an editable image file such as a PNG Plus. If you don't you might just lose all of your hard work, and we don't want to be sad.

Now that our image once again looks like this, we will move on to the main shooping process, or as I like to call it, the shooping process.

Kinja'd!!!

We're going to start with this red part up here. I like to use the manual selection tool to trace the area. Then we just cut it out.

Kinja'd!!!

"Oh no, where did it go?" you may wonder. Don't worry it's just taking a happy little vacation on your clipboard. We can take this time to see the background just poking on through there. Now I think our little red area is ready to come back home, so paste him right back into the picture.

Kinja'd!!!

Oh, look, there he is! Notice how he is his own layer in the stack, this will become very important in the job. Next, I'm just going to give him a fresh look in a solid color.

Kinja'd!!!

Just make him the color that's close to the color in the picture. That looks good there and we are going to repeat that process for pretty much the rest of the duration, but for now, let's just finish up the remaining red bits.

Kinja'd!!!

Now, go ahead and group all of those parts together. Now is a good time to save and we'll pick it back up in the next part.

Your shooping ability is second only to your ability to channel Bob Ross. That was damn impressive.

What was this done in? I'm currently attempting to do a shoop in GIMP, and it's... not going to plan. When I cut and paste a layer, it forms a layer that promptly disappears when filled.
