MANUAL 1987 325is! IN A NICE COLOR COMBO. CHEAP(-ish). SCREAMING.

It has a salvage title. Is that really a bad thing? I'm not too knowledgeable about that kind of stuff.

Personally, I'd try and avoid salvage title cars at all costs. The description of why it's salvage seems kind of errrrr.....Sketchy?

That's what I was thinking. But if it was in an accident or something, it looks like it was repaired properly. My GF dad's car is a salvage title now, but it was repaired to factory condition.

Does it really affect me if I planned on keeping it until it dies? I know those kill resale value.

...salvage title doesn't automatically mean it's bad, depends what caused the salvage title. Having said that, I have no idea what "because of mechanics lien or something" means. Never heard that one before, and sounds sketchy as hell.

Rebuilt engine and clutch all sounds good, but there's a lot of other things that can go wrong with these cars - like electronic issues (trust me, I've had plenty). Price sounds good and it looks decently clean - but I'd try to get more information on the salvage title situation and give it a thorough run-through before buying.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

I would try to bring it closer to $2000, specially for the salvage title bit and lack of general story about the car itself. Like, how many original miles?

Electronic issues are something I know would exist, it's a 23 year old BMW. The lein thing sounds a little fishy, but maybe he can explain if I contact him.

All you need is a barrel of the stuff and you'll be fine. Just dip the car in it for about 15 seconds, take it out to dry overnight, and boom! Brand new car.

I didn't even notice it wasn't an "is" front bumper. You may have figured out why it has a salvage title. Front end collision? He just put a new motor in as well...
