GMC stood for General Motors Truck Company and not Generic Mainstream Cars?
When they built heavy and medium duty trucks only?
Not stuff like this.
Not that I have anything against the Terrain, but GMC should have stayed a company that only sold trucks and SUVs. But only selling the Sierra, Canyon, and Yukon wouldn't really make for a good business case.

You're selling them way short.

Yeah, shame they don't build any real trucks anymore:

It's sad that GM doesn't make HD or MD trucks anymore. I visited Flint truck assembly right after they shut down the MD truck line. It was pretty sad to see kodiak parts sitting around and all the machines getting packed up.

Their vans are so hilariously old, no ones really buying them for personal use. I hardly ever see a conversion Savana or Express. But commercial use they're still popular I suppose.

I'm not saying they don't build real trucks anymore.

I know I was kinda teasing back at you.
at least they don't have a small car, right?
I mean, as far as CUV's go, I think the Terrain is the best looking little CUV you can buy. And the Acadia is .... well it just is. I don't think it's over the top great and it isn't bad. It's just kind of...there. It's like a Yukon for sissies lol.

The minute they have a small car is the minute GM loses my interest forever.
The Terrain is a really really really attractive CUV. I just wish it was under some other marque. The Acadia is the prettiest of the Lambda twins that are on sale right now, the Outlook was the prettiest, but you know..
Maybe it's the "masculinity" of the brand that makes the wimpy little cars look so good.

Remember when GMC was crazy, and awesome... Briefly:

Briefly is an understatement

I will concur about the Outlook....
And yeah I think "masculinity" is a perfect brand descriptor for GMC.
I think the Canyon will help with getting them back where they should be.
I also see a line up like GMC and it further confuses what the hell Dodge vs Ram is doing. Like they think the Durango and Journey can't be Rams, but GMC can pull off selling Terrains and Acadias...

GMC never stood for "General Motors Truck Company." Theories vary on what it stands for, whether it's "General Motors Commercial" or "Grabowsky Motor Corp," as the Max Grabowsky founded the company from which GMC sprang (i.e., Rapid Trucks).

I saw General Motors Truck Company online, so I went with it.

That's a valid point about the whole Dodge vs Ram thing. But a Ram Durango or a Ram Journey sounds kind of weird. Why not just ditch Ram and go back to the Dodge Ram line?
