Kinja'd!!!3 Kinja'd!!! 27

I washed and waxed my car last night, and this is what I found after work:

Kinja'd!!!

A thorough coating of dust, on top of it being 102 freaking degrees. I'm never buying a black car again...

I just realized I've only driven silver cars throughout my life. And will continue to do so once I get the Fiesta.

Somebody drew a crudely shaped dick in the pollen on my rear window. How helpful!

Quick detailer is your friend. . . I know your pain, I gave up on my old black car. . . Next new car I get will be a dark gray/silver color. I like black but it is too much damn work to keep clean. Especially in spring with all the pollen out. The Megs ultimate quick detailer works pretty well at repelling dust and pollen so it doesn't stay on the car though.

California car duster does miracles also.

It's the whole car, so quick detailer is futile. Only option is to hose it down and wipe it off, which I didn't feel like doing. At least it's really shiny underneath the dust...

No, that's what the quick detailer is for. It takes car of the pollen by lifting it off the paint surface when you wipe it off and it leaves an extra layer of protection down. The Q D is easier than hosing the bitch down and dealing with water spots. Just be liberal with your usage of microfiber clothes and the spray.

I had one and I hated it. It always left oily streaks after I was done. The quick detailer was my friend. Plus after the 5 minutes of spraying and wiping the car down it was shiny and glossy again and looked like it was freshly waxed.

My parents used to have a Sequoia in a color called Phantom Grey Pearl. The car could be absolutely filthy, and it wouldn't look dirty. If you want a car that always looks clean, this color is your best bet.

I've never had any streaky problems with mine. I use it for pollen, then wipe it down with some quick detailer.

Matte black. I feel your pain x 1000. Slightest bit of dust and it goes from a reasonably nice matte black to looking like shitty primer. Add to that the dust bowl we've been living in the past couple days and I'm starting to embrace dirty-ass-flat-black.

I've owned a black car fro about three months and I absolutely agree with you, never again. The pollen is just starting around here. I couldn't imagine what the car will be like in August heat.

My last car was basically that color. It stays clean, but it's kinda boring...

I seem to be a little more certain that is the case.

It's kind of a boring color. But with the right details, I think it can look good. It's more for people who care more about having an easy to maintain car, than having an exciting color.

I like using GTechniq to seal everything up. Then I can lololol my way to a hose and genuinely rinse everything down and just start driving. That hydrophobic layer doesn't play games.
