Because of this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I am around $2000 over budget and behind schedule. The owner of the shop I was having my car painted at (great guy all around) was very displeased with the quality of his workers work (I'm their first restoration). Because of that, yesterday morning he sent my car to arguably the best custom and restoration shop in town to have bodywork and paint done. The guy who owns the shop my car was sent to has been working exclusively on my car the past two days. The owner of the original shop is going to eat all the cost of sending my car to the fancy shop and all of the cost to me that was over his original estimate. My final cost is going to be around $3500. Theoretically I get the car back tomorrow afternoon which gives me three days to get my car reassembled for my car show Saturday morning (which you guys should attend). Things are turning out for the better.

Putting a car back together in three days would make a good short film.

I'm tempted to make a time lapse.

Three days to assemble it sounds like the timeline some of the reality shows give themselves in order to produce drama. Good luck!

I know GoPros can do time lapse, thats a pretty easy google. the problem is mostly in the battery life. You've probably got 2-3 hours of the gopro taking photos before its battery dies. long enough cord and you could have it plugged in while its going

i imagine you can achieve something similar with the canon (again, googles)

the biggest trick, over 3 days of work and multiple card and or battery swaps, will be making sure you maintain a consistent angle.

There's nothing better than when somebody does the right thing. Good for him and good for you.

Dude that's fantastic :) this 'shop manager needs a solid thankyou present at the end of this. I'd do a crate of beer and a promise to be back in the future with whatever project I pick up next.

There's a function somewhere on the GoPro 3 that takes time lapse photos, but I'm not sure how to set that up. Should be guides on the interwebs or in the booklet though.

He's getting my referral towards one of the richest guys in the city who is doing a car for his son. More business is a good gift.

A trunk full of Coors would be appropriate.

That's a big-balls move on his part, and shows confidence in his work. Usually when a good shop takes on another shop's project they find all kinds of problems. These welds are shit, this panel is full of mud, that panel really should be replaced, these gaps are way off, we can finish it up in seven weeks and it'll only cost 20 grand. I hope it works out for you, but I'd be really surprised if you really get it back today.

Got it back, nearly flawless. The shop wants to see the car in a couple days to buff out any imperfections.
