Have you seen the prices on early-mid 2000s Maserati Coupes?

These cars are worth nothing! I'm seeing examples with less than 30k miles going for under $20k. A quick search on its reliability yields that the auto/Cambio transmissions are notoriously bad and tend to go kaput quite often. What about the manuals then?

This seems like the cheapest way into owning a car with a modern F-car engine and yet they're worth nothing. Any former or current owners who can chime in on how owning one is?

Unfortunately I keep noticing this. I know a guy that had one, got rid of it, and now wants another one.

But, they're unreliable as all hell. And not that pretty.

They weren't great cars, but if they're cheap enough they might be a bit of a laugh. You'll still have high maintenance bills and truly woeful fuel economy, though.

I suspect that they're not cheap enough at anything near $20k. Unless you can get one with a carmax warranty...

I don't think they're THAT bad.

For me, the Maserati Coupe resemblences the dark age of Masa', I've never liked it, it just looks too clunky, so many other possibilities than this.

Love them!

When extra money comes along, I'll have it on my list of cheap fun. Maintenance will probably bit me in the ass. Hard. Almost as hard as my rottie. But that's not the point, I love the way that these things look.

Good looking? Sorta.

Reliable? No way.

Manual gearbox? Yep!

Glorious Ferrari-like flat plane crank V8 noises for dirt cheap? OH YES.

Dangerously affordable. I still think you would need to think about it costing twice as much due to eventual maintenance.
