So, now that we all know the that the SRT brand is dead and the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , will this make "SRT Vipers" into collector's items?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Also, what do you expect out of the Viper's "mid-cycle freshening" in 2015? Will it finally get the 700 hp that so many people feel this 5th generation Viper should have had from the beginning? Will it finally have, at least the option of, carbon ceramic brakes? Will the GTS model finally turn into a quiet, refined 911 Turbo competitor? Will we finally see the ACR model?
Also, on a semi-related note, I think the new Viper looks gorgeous in GTS-R Blue Pearl.

I love this car, but should have had a hp bump. The outgoing Viper had 640hp. Fingers crossed for convertible, which should have came out last year, and an ACR. These need to happen, especially before the ZR1 comes out.

Yeah I really like the car as well and agree with your points. The convertible has apparently already been confirmed by Gilles
"The car was designed to be a convertible," he says. "Under the skin is a convertible chassis. It's already there – the stiffness is there. It's extremely easy should that come, but we're not in any rush."
and I'm hoping that the ACR finally gets at least carbon ceramics. Also, it will interesting to see how impressive the new ZR1 will be if the Z06 already has 625 hp and 635 ft. lbs. Dodge had better start doing some impressive things or the Viper will get blown out of the water.

Couldn't agree more. I've posted about this numerous times on here and gotten shot down for my opinions. But, the Viper is going to need to change in order to stay relevant. It might be more tamed, but the thing is still scary. Saw three at a dealership a few weeks ago. This thing is ferocious. Sexy, but damn scary looking. I'm not saying they need to change that, but they should pick a direction and go with it. If it's going to look like that give it 800HP. I've mentioned that maybe a TT V8 might be the way to go. Might as well crucify me. Maybe a smaller but supercharged v10. Something's gotta give. That motor NA'd can put out more than 640 ponies, do it. And, it honestly should have debuted as both coupe and vert.
The problem with the Viper is that it's lost it's bite (relatively). SRT built this car for the only people they knew would buy it, Viper fans. Now that they've all bought theirs, it's hard to convince others to buy it. People are skeptical and want a value. A (historic) V10 in a pretty shell for $120K is hard to justify.

Thank you someone who understands and I agree with all of your points.
It's honestly sad to see all the Vipers that are sitting on dealer lots. For instance, that blue car I posted in the article is in Grapevine, TX and is one of like 5 Vipers they have and is being discounted nearly $10,000 off MSRP. In fact, they still have an unsold "launch edition" car. Dodge has definitely put itself in a tough spot because it isn't as refined as something like a Porsche and isn't as cheap as a Z06 anymore. They'd better make some changes because I don't want the Viper to die. I love that its the odd ball in the super car landscape.
