This one is tricky it costs 2500. It only comes with the one picture and it is a 4 door *gasp! That being said I could care less it is a 4 door and I love this body style so I say NP and you could clean up that rusted chrome easily with a little tin foil!

This is a very important car in American automotive history if you ask me. The body overall seems clean. I would inspect the under body. If I bought it and it seems like a good deal I would hot rod it. Chop the roof a couple inches, new smooth bumper up front, a visor (common on this era I like them don't know why), keep the wheels (it has wide whites and Cadillac sombrero covers), upgrade to air bag suspension, disc brakes, rocket 350, th450 (this is going to be a cruiser), fender skirts on the rear, candy red paint with a white roof, keep the interior mostly stock but make it black and white, and finally some custom pinstriping. Yes I have thought of getting one of these before.

I see your vision and I love it, but I also see the dollar bills climbing higher and higher and higher! What about flames out of the exhaust? Yay of nay?

If I had money and lived near the area, then I would buy it. I've wanted one of these for a couple of years. Who cares if it's a 4-door when it is still one of the most important cars of the time? I wouldn't bother customizing it, leave it like it is and enjoy driving it on pretty days. No need to change anything—its already 12 volt.

Flame throwers hmmm. YES. Pricy yes, that is why I won't be attempting that for a long time. College gas and food is where my monies are going now.

I don't care it is a four door personally but some hotrodders see that as blasphemy! And please educate me on how this car is so important? You're the second person to say that. What am I missing?

The Oldsmobile Rocket and the Cadillac OHV were the first overhead-valve pushrod v8s in production cars. They set the standard for engine design in american companies for nearly 30 years. The Rocket 88 gets its name from this motor. The 88 was very successful in motorsports, particularly Nascar. The Rocket 88 is considered to be the precursor the muscle car era and helped create demand for powerful cars. Oldsmobile also pioneered the traditonal automatic transmission with the hydramatic transmission a few years earlier.
This is a car from GM's prime.
