Sure, they are emerging with the most ambitious plan in 30 year, but...

Kinja'd!!!

...they emerge in new world, compared to the one they left.

When Alfa left, 30 years ago, Cadillac was a joke, but that's not the case today.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

...Japanese luxury, was, relatively, a joke too, but that's not the case today.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Jaguar was pretty much living in the past, but that's not the case anymore.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The VAG war machine wasn't dreaming to be as powerful as it is today.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And the Koreans were better known for BBQ than for premium cars(or cars in general)

Kinja'd!!!

So, Alfa Romeo better give its best shot, or else they will get stepped on, quickly.

Well, to be fair, I think very few people will cross shop a Japanese luxo boat with an Alfa. Totally different demographics. They might cross shop the 4C with one of those sports cars I forgot the names of, but the 4C won't be a volume seller.

Brands like BMW, Audi and maybe Cadillac are more natural competitors. Alfas tend to be cheaper than the Germans though, which makes Jaguar too expensive to be seen as a true competitor.

Not quite, in America, IS and Q50 are dynamically on par with 3 Series and C, and better than the Audi due RWD agility, they will sooner or latter find the right setups and trims for Europe, too. Don't worry about that.

Also, MotorTrend said that the GS, along with the new CTS, have the sportiest chassis in that class.

And cars like the RC-F and the Q50 Eau Rouge, can be anything, but boats.

I... I just don't see it. The Japanese sedans (so excluding the RC-F and Q50 Eau Rouge (why in French?)) are vehicle you buy with your head. An Alfa is the opposite, numbers be damned.

I see the best nose to nose match up being Jaguar and Alfa.

I think it would be a nice fight and that Alfa would be proud to enter that ring.
