So, I made a mistake.
In a moment of not thinking, I slathered the inside of the connection in this stuff when swapping terminals this weekend. Now I get a terrible start due to the increased resistance.
I'm a moron.

Fricken' snake oil. You know what else helps protect the battery in my car? The plastic shroud that completely encloses my battery and protects it from the elements.

I once hooked a battery up backwards. It was a new to me car, the battery had been relocated to behind the passenger seat. The wires were extended battery cables that were not marked. I did not pay attention when I unhooked them. Hooked it back up, saw huge sparks, but kept going. Cranked it over a couple times. Popped some fuses, fried the ECU. Dead car.
