Slight annoyance. . . slight.

Apparently if I say "it sucks that electric engines don't make any noise" it means I fear the future. No no no, I accepted it, I just don't like that one aspect. That is like me saying "man I don't like the color of the car" meaning that I hate the entire car. Something some people don't seem to get through their head. Don't even bring up questions about electric cars like "I wonder how tuners are going to extract more power out of this" or something similar because you get the same response "they will find a way, don't fear the future." Sorry about asking a question. I guess asking any sort of question is fearing the future. It isn't like this is new technology, electric cars have been around forever. How do you think the lunar rovers moved? There is no air on the moon, no combustion engine. The only problem was the battery life and charging time. Tesla proved you can get 300 miles on a charge. The charging time is still high but they have quick charge stations as well, which drastically decrease it(although I still think 30 minutes is still a bit too long, usually when I am at a gas station it is a 5 minute ordeal). In any case, I am done.

It's more about the rarity too. I can't believe there's only 38 in the states.

Yeah, there is one in Chicago that I know of. I have only seen it for 10 minutes, but it was extremely memorable. They are rarer than Enzos!

WOW, didn't realize we are so close minded about technological advancement around here.

Exactly! And the owners are clearly cooler, they actually drive them! I saw one on copart.com one with a salvage title once with a little cosmetical damage, I was so confused. So many unanswered questons...

Tuning? I can't imagine it would get any easier than to tune an electric vehicle for speed. My guess swap a couple capacitors for a faster dump would get you pretty far...

As for electric car problems:

No engine noise makes me sad, and also the probability that I won't be able to buy a manual transmission electric car.

I am sure you can up the power but lower the range. Something most car guys are willing to do anyway.

I wouldn't be too sure about the manual part though. The formula e cars have transmission so a manual electric may be possible. Although the high torque number may cause some problems. Either way video!

6 of them in the US had manuals, I wonder if that white one on eBay is still for sale...

Geez, that sounds awful! I hope I can learn to like it when our e-car overlords rule us...

But, here is hoping for a stick shift electric car if I ever have to give up on real cars.

I would give electric cars about 20 to 30 year until the are the only cars on the road. Until then you can definitely buy a stick shift car! You can get them cheap too! Less than a grand
