So I've gotten a little bit of flak at work for getting a Mazda6 to replace my Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Anyway I'm just curious about your thoughts on it. Is it a beigemobile? Is it a girls car? It's a spiderless 2010. I replaced the Crown Vic because it was a constant money pit. Not just gas but replacing parts too.
No. It's not a stick, I'll rant about that in a later post. And the only reason I didn't get a Miata is because as much as I want one, it couldn't be the answer to my requirements.
Here's a picture of it.

It's not quite as badass as the P71. Got any pictures so we can get the scope of things?

Are we talking about the latest Mazda 6? If so, they seem pretty beloved around here.
Not, you know, Crown Vic Police Interceptor beloved, but that's all but impossible.

Hey, it's better than a camry. The 6 isn't a bad looking car at all.

It's not that the 6 isn't cool, it's that the Crown Vic is really cool. It's all relative.

There are much beige-r cars. This gets some additional non-beige tint because it's not the obvious what-everyone-else-is-buying choice.
Plus, Mazda. They seem to care what people like us want.

I know right? Bet they'd be fun to autocross.

The obvious question: What do they drive that bests either of your choices?

My two cents. Fuck 'em. If they aren't making the payments, they don't matter. If the 6 suits your needs and you're happy with it, who cares what your coworkers think?
I try my best to get along with everyone I work with, but they aren't my friends. I don't care what they drive or what they do after work. Granted, I spend 55 hours a week with these guys. Their opinions don't really mean shit to me though. Do your thing, home-skillet.

Mazda 6's are above-par.

Screw them. The Mazda6 is much better than the Crown Vic. I'd say it looks like a distinctly more grown-up car too. Most P71's look pretty clapped out or driven by guys trying to pretend they're cops.
Probably better for picking up the womens too.

By the time I got my P71 it was well worn out. It was a 2001 with right around 100k miles. All cop miles too. I was its first real post auction owner.
