It occurred to me that instead of taking an American truck engine and putting it in a Brit sports car, I'm taking British engine, making it sports car, and putting it in American truck. Er, what the FUCK is wrong with me? Plus: parts from more than one *kind* of Britcar. I think the gods of car are going to smite me.

It better be a small pickup. Ranger or S10.

sooo a brit motor in a us body?? sounds different..however what are you putting into the truck? if its a 2.x liter cosworth you may want to rethink that idea :)

Lighter. Falcon Ranchero - about 2400lb. Which isn't to say a Jag V12-swapped F-150 wouldn't be hilarious.

Rover 4.2 -> Falcon Ranchero. Weighs the same as the original engine, 3x the power. Because the aluminums - all of them.

The F-150 or what I'm actually doing? Either way, yes, but I can't escape the feeling there's something horribly wrong. Against the laws of nature.

Pretty much. Exactly the lines along which I'm thinking - hence me expecting a smite for my hubris. Like I'm trying to break the laws of reality.

Both. I wouldn't mind a V12 swapped into an old Fiero. If there's even room enough for it. Maybe stretch it myself like the Venom GT.

See, that at least knows it's a mutant. I'm not sure my project does.

There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. I'm already at irresponsible and depraved, and don't need to be helpless, so I'll hold off on the ether. For now.

Very close, really. Comes out a bit like a mash up of the p76 and an XL/xk ute, though it's all American market bits and not oz ones. It has more than a whiff of oz about it, that's for certain - I've named it Oswald as an allusion to that. I then realized the unfortunate coincidence in name/ model year to another Oswald (63: Kennedy, etc.), but I'm not changing it.

Mind. Blown. P76 Ute.

I really wish BL had a better crack at the Australian market. The P6 was very popular there, and the P76 was shaping up to be a reasonable seller before trouble back in the UK started impacting the colonies.

Bah. BL should be used in the dictionary to exemplify 'missed opportunities'.
