Kinja'd!!!

I bought an aftermarket dash.

The price was right, but I'll report back once the adhesive sets. Skeptically optimistic.

That sounds cool. Just curious, what's the difference and why did you want this one?

I ask not because I have the same car or anything like that, but I never got the reasons behind changing to an aftermarket dash.

100% price motivated decision

The difference is typically fit and finish. The manufacturer made parts are made with original forms (dies for metal). OER parts are close but usually not as accurate. There are exceptions do to licensing, etc., but that' the general deal.

Let me know how it works out! I may have to go this route on my C900 as nobody makes a full dash for it. It's either that or sand it down, reform the innards and cover it with something of my choosing (probably color-matched marine vinyl)
